Moses page 19 by ric gustafson
The throne chair approached the river. Pharaoh was in a good mood. He had come to praise RA the god of the sun. As the chair stopped at the river's edge, a voice startled him.
" The God of the Hebrews has sent me". Moses stared at him. " To tell you to let his people go".
Pharaoh looked at Moses with disgust.
" I will strike the water of the Nile". His tired voice hesitated. " It will be changed to blood".
Pharaoh sneered. " Your God cannot do that".
Moses looked at his brother. " Take the staff and stretch out your hand over the water".
Aaron lifted the staff and brought it down on the water. Ripples appeared and fish thrashed around. The water became bright red. Fish washed up on shore swollen and bloated. A horrible odor rose from the river.
Pharaoh screamed. " Take me away from here". Later, he pointed a finger at the sky. " I will not give in". He screamed in defiance. " I will not be defeated by their God".
