Dwayne yawned as he closed his binder. He looked at the large clock on the far wall and noticed it read 4:00. He smiled knowing that orientation was going to be over at 5:00 and then he could relax. It had been a tiring day of going over everything in his new work binder.
" I'm glad that everyone has made it to 4:00 and is still here" J. I. said as he turned the pages of his binder to the last page. " It is now time for the final section of your orientation".
Dwayne was glad for that.
J. I. looked toward an older gentleman who was sitting in the the last row of seats. " Mr Lyon, they are ready for you".
To the surprised looks of everyone present including Dwayne, he got out of the chair and quietly walked up to the front of the podium. " Thank you J. I. and welcome to Lyon Financial Group".
Dwayne started to sweat because it seemed Mr Lyon's eyes bore right through him.
" We are a very successful financial company and with you on board, we will continue to be that way". He looked at the clock. " It is now 5:00, go home, get a good night's sleep and we will see you first thing in the morning".
Dwayne and all the other new hires smiled and then left.

Leonard Hellman walked up to Suite 304 and hesitated before entering. He was constantly worrying about his huge debt problem and he jumped literally every time the phone rang fearing it was a debt collector. He saw an ad in the local paper about a debt forgiveness agency and thought to himself why not check it out.
He walked into the sparsely decorated office and walked up to the receptionist.
" Hi, may I help you" she said as she put a stamp on an outgoing letter to be mailed.
" Yes, I have a 10:00 am appointment with Harrison Dewey".
" I'll tell him you are here" she replied as she picked up the phone. " Please have a seat".
Ten minutes later, an older gentleman wearing a blue business suit walked up and shook Leonard's hand. " Harrison Dewey, nice to meet you".
They walked into a very spacious office which was filled with family pictures and framed work awards.
" Please have a seat Mr Hellman" Harrison said as he pointed to a plosh empty chair next to his desk. " So what can I do for you?".

Zeula woke up from a sound sleep to hear a soft knock at the door. He tiptoed around his mother and opened the door. It was his friend Ania.
" My friend Jalien, who is with the Pharisees, wants us to help them with a job" he said with a smile. " Also the pay is good".
" Ok, I'll meet you outside". He dressed quickly and then kissed his mother on the forehead.
He walked out and followed Ania down torch lit streets. He followed his friend to an area of Jerusalem near the Temple that he was not familiar with. They came upon an unassuming house where some activity had just taken place. They walked up to ten men who were wearing traditional Pharisee robes. Standing next to them was a man and a woman.
The man looked older and acted very nervous as if he had done something he should not have. The young woman was standing and shivering because she was wearing only a torn thin robe. To Zeula, it appeared that she was crying.
Their friend Jalien spotted them and walked over to them. He told them that the two had been caught in the act of adultery. He also explained to them that the penalty for getting caught in the act was death by stoning.
The older gentleman caught in the act was talking to Jalien and some of the others. After a while, I noticed that he had quietly walked away. The young woman was now cowering near a corner of the house.

Louie Anders was walking down a huge glorious highway. At one point, he looked back and saw people as far as he could see.
" Louie".
He turned and did not see anybody. He kept walking.
" Louie".
He turned again and then realized it was the Lord speaking directly to him. " Yes Lord".
" When you reach a high platform where I will be sitting, join those on my right".
" Ok". He started walking and then eventually stopped at a point where everyone was either going left or right. He walked to the right and stopped next to a large platform where angels and heavenly hosts were standing below praising God. Louie noticed a huge throne on top of the platform and smiled at who he saw on the throne. Jesus was sitting there smiling at Louie and those sitting on his right. It took quite a while for the millions upon millions upon millions to find their place either to the left or the right of the platform.
One of the archangels who sat on either side of Jesus stood up and walked over to the edge of the platform. " Worship the Lord of Lords".
Everyone on the left or right of the platform went down on their knees. " Jesus Christ is Lord".

The summer was hot. I heard the ding ding bell and I ran to the pure white truck looking for ice cream.
The ding ding man was dressed in white with a dark beard. He stopped the truck and opened the little window. " Can I help you?".
" I'm looking for ice cream" I said as sweat dripped into my eyes and stung them.
" I'm not selling ice cream" he replied with a grin.
" So what are you selling?".
" That people would simply believe in me, repent of their sins and they will be with me forever".
I kept wiping sweat from my eyes. " Not selling ice cream".
" Nope, just the free gift of salvation".
" Why do you ding ding that bell but yet you don't sell any ice cream".
" I ding ding for the lost and anybody willing to listen to my simple message".
" Sorry". I walked away from the truck.
The ding ding man watched with tears in his eyes and sadness in his heart. He dinged dinged the bell and the pure white truck traveled on in search of the spiritually lost.

Jesus touched Amer and he felt something strange happening to him. Skin that was infected and rotting was becoming pink and healthy again.
" See that you say nothing to anyone" Jesus said with a stern look. " Go show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded as a testimony to them".
Amer smiled and then ran off. He ran for blocks and then encountered some of the townspeople who were walking. " I'm cleansed" he shouted in joy as he danced in front of them. " Jesus the Rabbi healed me".
Townspeople spread the news of Amer's healing and Jesus could no longer enter a city publicly.

Amer watched as the Rabbi was walking toward him. " Unclean Unclean" he yelled as loud as he could. Normally, when he would say that people would run to the other side of the street to avoid him. With a surprise look on his face, he noticed that the Rabbi was still walking toward him.
Now, he decided to take a chance. He ran toward Jesus as fast as his infected feet could run. He stopped at Jesus's feet and knelt down. He lifted his face to the Rabbi " if you choose, you can make me clean".
Jesus stared at the man with pity in his eyes. He stretched out his hand. " I do choose, be made clean".

Amer touched his hand that was missing two fingers. Rats had chewed them to pieces one night as he slept. He saw a group of people from town approach. " Unclean Unclean" he yelled as loud as he could. The women in the group shrieked and all of them quickly walked to the other side of the street.
He touched his face where part of his cheek was missing. He wanted to be cleansed of this horrible condition that he had. He had heard about a Rabbi called Jesus who was coming to town. He had heard that this Rabbi heals people. Amer hoped that when this Rabbi came that he would want to heal him.

Psalm 18:13- ' the voice of the Most High resounded'
This term refers to God the Father. EL refers to God and Elyon means raised up. In this passage from one of David's psalm of praise, he recounts how he called on God to scatter his enemies. The Most High rescued David in his time of need. This name predates Moses and refers to God the Most High.
No matter what name we call God, he will always be there for us and that is a comforting thought.

Lazarus, Martha and Mary stood next to Jesus as he spoke.
" It is necessary and written for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day".
Martha began to listen intently to Jesus's words.
" You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the end of the earth".
" Yes, Lord".
Then Jesus's clothing took on a glow and he began to rise disappearing into a cloud above them.
All of a sudden, two men in white stood next to them. " Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven?".
Martha could not believe what was happening.
" This same Jesus who was taken up from you into heaven will so come in like manner as you saw him go into heaven". Then the two men disappeared.
" Praise the Lord" Martha said as she hugged her brother and sister.

Martha was feeding their donkey when she heard a knock on their back gate. She opened it to reveal one of Jesus's followers. " Hello Thomas".
" Hello Mary" he said with a grin as he gave her a hug. " Peace be on this house".
" What news do you have from Jerusalem?".
" Two of my friends, Cleophas and Simon who were walking to Emmaus were joined by a stranger".
" Then what happened?".
" He asked why they were sad and then he preceded to tell them of the things the Messiah was to suffer". " He agreed to eat with them and when he broke bread, they realized it was the Lord".
" So what Lazarus told me was true, he is risen".
Thomas shook his head. " Unless I can touch his nail prints and put my hand in his side, I will not believe".
" Even though he raised my brother from the dead, you still won't believe".
" Martha, I can't".

Martha opened it to reveal her friend Tobias. " Tobias, I was worried about you" she said as she gave the young man a hug. " What news do you have from Jerusalem?".
" The disciples are hiding in an upper room".
" Won't Judas and the soldiers find them?".
Her friend shook his head. " They found Judas hanging from a tree in the Potter's field".
" You have more news".
" Some women went to the tomb early on the first day of the week and noticed that the large stone guarding the tomb had been rolled away". " These women said that Jesus was not there".
A startled look came over Martha. " Tobias, what are you saying?".
" Just like your brother, Jesus rose from the dead".

Martha was lighting the Sabbath candles when she heard the back gate open. She ran out to see a sorrowful look on Lazarus's face.
" What is it Lazarus?".
" Jesus is dead".
" What" Martha replied in shock. All of a sudden, she felt weak and slumped onto a nearby bench. " What happened my brother?".
" He was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane by soldiers led by Judas Iscariot".
" Judas" Martha said with a serious look. " I never did trust him".
" He was brought before Caiaphas then Pilate".
" He was not guilty of a crime".
" Pilate released the criminal Barrabas and then had Jesus crucified".
" Lazarus, what is going to happen to us now?".
" My dear sister, I don't know".

This name refers to God the Son. In this bible passage, Nicodemus who was a Pharisee has met Jesus for the first time. Out of respect, he calls Jesus Rabbi. Later, he will stand up for Jesus at his trial and help prepare his body for burial. The word Rabbi means religious teacher and Jesus has had his teachings written about for two centuries. Along with being the Son of God, the Messiah and other names, Jesus is still the greatest teacher that has ever lived.

Martha and Mary sat on a bench eating some fruit and cheese and waiting for their brother to return. He had gone to Jerusalem to check out rumors of what might be happening to Jesus. As they ate, everything started to get very quiet.
It had gotten very dark out that afternoon as if it was nighttime. All of a sudden, the earth shook as if it was an earthquake.
" Hold me Martha" Mary said as the two held each in fear.
" I hope no one in the village got hurt" Martha said as she heard a knock at the gate. She walked over and opened it to reveal their friend Nathan.
" Martha, Mary are you ok?".
" Nathan, we are fine" Martha said as she gave him a hug. " What just happened?".
" I'm not sure" he said as the sky got clearer and the sun came back out. " That much darkness at this time of day has only happened one other time in my life".
Mary had a worried look on her face. " I hope Lazarus is ok".

Aaron ran as he heard the other boys yelling to themselves.
" Catch him".
He ran around the corner of the school trying to find a place to hide.
" Spread out and find him".
He ran toward a large tree that was near the baseball diamond. He ran behind the large oak tree to catch his breath. As he looked around the big tree, he noticed a manhole cover that had some writing on it. He ran up to it and observed the words on it ' abandon all hope, you who enter here'.
Aaron noticed one end of the cover was loose. With all of his might, he pulled the cover off of the manhole.
" There he is, get him".

" Thank you sweetie" was his reply as he stared at a notebook sitting in front of him.
" Still worried about orientation tomorrow".
" A little bit" Dwayne said as he sipped from the mug. " After what my friend told me this morning".
" About his brother's troubles with the firm" she replied as she sipped some of her skinny latte. " As a christian, you know that God has you there for a reason".
" I know". He blew inside his mug to try and cool off his hot beveridge.
" Pray as you are driving there and pray during your orientation".
" Ok" he replied with a grin as he drank from the mug.

Dwayne walked up the three concrete steps and then opened the black glass door for his wife.
" Morning Dwayne" Larry Ming said quietly as he opened the door. " It's a beautiful Sunday morning".
" It sure is". He walked over to the long coat rack and hung up his grey summer coat.
They walked over to a long table and found their name tags.
" Morning Doris" Dwayne said as he and Marcia shook the hand of the greeter.
" Good morning Dwayne and Marcia".
They walked into the sanctuary, picked up a bulletin and then sat down in their favorite pew.
Dwayne opened the bulletin and then smiled. Today's sermon was on the hope of God.

Marcia put some mashed potatoes on the plate and then handed it back to her husband. " He actually asked you if you were a christian" she said as she handed Dwayne a basket of fresh bread.
" He did".
" What did you say?" she asked as she poured him a glass of red wine.
" I told him I was".
" And what did he say?".
Dwayne took a bite of the roast beef that was on his plate. " He told me that an employer he had many years ago was a christian and that he was in charge of their finances"." I'm worried that my chances for the job are nil because I told him that".
" God will determine if you are going to get the job or not".
As they were washing the dinner dishes, the phone rang.
" I'll get it" Dwayne said. He put down his towel, walked over and picked up the cell phone. " Hello". " Yes, this is Dwayne Hodgins".
Marcia watched his reaction as he listened intently to the call.
" Thank you, I'll see you Monday morning". He put the phone back on the hook.
" Dwayne, who was that?".
" Mr J. I" he said as a smile came to his face. " I got the job".

" Must be right out of high school" he mumbled to himself as he heard the intercom on her desk ring.
" Yes, Mr J. I." she said quietly into the machine. " Ok". She pointed toward Dwayne. " Mr J. I. will see you now".
He stood up and quickly walked over and knocked on the heavy wooden door.
" Come in".
Dwayne opened the door and walked into a sparse cream colored office with only one picture on a wall behind a huge oak desk. A medium built man with a gray beard walked over and extended his hand. " Hi Dwayne, my name is J. I.".
" J. I. ?".

This term refers to God the Son. Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Jesus gives a two part revelation to John to take a warning to the seven churches and he also revealed to John about the end times. Jesus starts his revelation to John with the words I am Alpha and Omega. Jesus was there when we were born and will be there when we are called to come home.

Eve page 11

One night, I woke up and realized that I felt different inside. I had conceived.
Adam and I followed the river south through forests and meadows. The ground was so hard to sleep on that I spent three days weaving mats for us to sleep on. I asked Adam if he could find his way back to the Garden. He was silent.
" Do you remember when the One said that I would bear the seed?".
" Yes".
" I am pregnant with that child".
Adam blinked in amazement. " I did not even know".

Pastor Simpson quietly drank his coffee as the budget chairman read from his report.
" I have good news and bad news" Derick Jones said as he cleared his throat and began to read. " First of all, I don't know how it happened but church attendance is up 15%".
Pastor Simpson smiled as kept sipping his coffee.
" The bad news is even with the increased offerings, we are still way behind as far as our yearly budget".
After the meeting was over, frustration came over the Pastor's face as he walked back to his office. Sadly, he walked into his office and sat down in his chair. He stared at the lamp.

When God created Adam from the earth, he was the first potter.God puts us on his wheel of life and then he stretches us and molds us for his great purpose. It is a messy and difficult process but in the end God will turn us into a work of art.

The men had just finished their meal when Mary quietly walked in and knelt down at Jesus's feet. She was holding an alabaster flask of costly spikenard. She got on her knees and poured it over Jesus's feet. Then she began to dry his feet with her hair. Martha and the men stared in amazement.
" Why was this oil wasted?" Judas Iscariot said out loud with a sneer. " It might have been sold for more than 300 denarii and the money given to the poor".
Jesus gave Judas a stern look. " Let her alone, she has done a good work for me". He helped Mary back unto her feet. " She has come to anoint my body for burial".
Everyone including Martha looked puzzled.
" Whereever this gospel is preached, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her".

He knew that what he was doing was wrong but desperate measures had to be done as far as lack of attendance. He picked up the tarnished unattractive object and wondered what he had to do. He smiled as he remembered an old movie where there was a magic lamp.

the names of God: Jehovah by ric gustafson
Psalm 83:18- ' whose name alone is Jehovah art the most high over all the earth'
This term refers to God the Father. This name of Jehovah is a personal name of God and in the bible is used with great adoration and honor. Jesus never used this name and instead used God the Father. We can have peace in our hearts knowing that God the great Jehovah has always loved and taken care of us and that will never change.

Mica stood outside the audience chamber as the stench from his Sire's cancer almost was too much to bear. He did not know why he was being summoned at this time but that was the norm for his King. Mica banged his fist on the wooden door as the guard next to it just smiled.
" Enter".
Mica walked in to see his King wearing a red robe and standing next to his counselor.
" My King, you summoned me".
" Sire, High Priest Annas says that according to the prophet Micah their Christ or Messiah would come from Bethlehem".
" So all we would need to do is ransack Bethlehem and find this fake Messiah".
" The problem Sire is that it is possible the child is not there".
" Counselor, get to the point my stomach is really bothering me".
" Sire, I have three Magi from the east who would like to talk to you"

John 10:11- ' I am the good shepherd, the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep'
This name refers to God the Son. When Jesus used this name for himself, he was fulfilling a prophecy of Isaiah 40:11. In John chapter 10, Jesus was telling the Pharisees that he knows his people. He told them that the people know him and that he would die for his flock.
No matter where we have strayed as sheep, Jesus the Good Shepherd will come and look for us his lost sheep. He will not rest until he finds us and brings us back to the flock.
