I was there page 14 by ric Gustafson
It was eleven thirty in the morning on Thursday April 6. I had just been informed that Herod wanted to travel to the temple through the Golden Gate. I was relieved at his intended route. The streets were not crowded and he could enter the temple through the back side compound. Our involvement in this spectacle would be minimal.
I was asked to inspect the intended route. Other than heavy traffic, I noticed no security concerns. Then I was informed that Pilate would meet Herod at the gate. Later, Caiaphas joined us. At the gate, Pilate read a proclamation and then greeted Herod. In the litter, Claudia and Herodias began conversing with each other. Myself and six men escorted the procession to Pilate's residence.
