Between 1916 and 1948, cereals such as Rice Krispies, Raisin Bran, Wheaties and All Bran were introduced to the market. In 1904, a General Mills inventor named Lester Borchardt  used an air gun to make puffed cereal and thus Kix was born.
Cheerios which General Mills claims is the first ready to eat oat cereal came at this time also. This cereal has been loved by so many kids and adults alike for decades yet has never had an official spokesperson.
What made Rice Krispies so successful over the years has been it's slogan of Snap Crackle and Pop. The cereal got it's nickname of the talking cereal.
Wheaties has been the heavyweight of the cereal world for a long time and is known for it's breakfast of champions on it's boxes.
The heavyweights of the cereal industry remain Rice Krispies, Cheerios, Raisin Bran and Wheaties.
