'as is' by ric gustafson
I walked into the store and turned left to the gift return area. There were four employees behind the return counter and all four were helping customers. I walked up to the first customer service employee who's counter space was free.
" Can I help you?" asked the young dark bearded man who looked at me very intently.
" Yes, I would like to return my salvation".
" Sorry, salvation is not a gift you can return or exchange" he replied as he rang his little bell. " Next".
Tears came to my eyes. " Surely he knew about my many flaws and sin".
" Oh yes, my father knew that" he replied with a smile. " He wanted to pay full price for your salvation anyway".
" But I am ' as is' with so many sins" I said as I wiped more tears with my hands. " Why does he want me for?".
" My father paid full price for you and gives you the best guarantee you could ever have".
" What guarantee is that?".
" My father gives you a forever guarantee that is good for all of eternity".
I looked at the clock on the wall. "I need to go".
As I left I noticed a smile on his face. " Go in peace and serve my father".
