Chosen: John 1: 9-13

Chosen: John 1: 9-13 by ric gustafson

According to John 1, he was in the world the world was made through him yet the world did not know him. One day Jesus came. But the world did not know him. He was too average to be noticed. He was too poor to be impressive. Nazareth, the town he was from, was considered uneducated and backwards. In John 1, Nathanael asked if anything good could come out of Nazareth.
Jesus claimed to be the Messiah. People rejected him. Jesus did not require much to be a follower. No status, age, race or gender mattered to Jesus. Jesus welcomed the poor and the rich. To find followers, Jesus broke every cultural, political and social barrier.
To those whose eyes were opened, they became the children of God.
Praise God's name.
