The author of the book was Micah the Morasthite. The date of the book is 700 BC. The book talks about Israel and Judah. Both will suffer for their idolatry and injustice. Micah chastises both the Northern and Southern Jewish nations. Micah proclaims that the nations pursued false gods and cheated the poor. The two nations will be devastated by the Assyrians. But God will preserve the remnant of Israel. Micah predicted the town Jesus would be born. Micah showed that God's judgment is tempered by mercy.
