The author of this book is unclear. The date of this book is around 760 BC. The book is about a reluctant prophet who tries to run away from God. He is swallowed by a giant fish. God tells Jonah to preach repentance in Nineveh. Nineveh was the capital of the Assyrian Empire. Jonah disobeys God and tries to sail away from God. There is a storm. Jonah ends up in the belly of a giant fish. When Jonah decides to do what God wants him to do, Jonah preaches to Nineveh. Nineveh repents and God spares the city from destruction. God loves everyone even his enemies.
