places in the Bible: Gethsemane by ric Gustafson
Gethsemane means ' Oil Press'. This special place is believed to be across the Kidron Brook near the foot of the Mount of Olives. At the time of Jesus, this grove of olive trees would of been to the east of Jerusalem. This place is mentioned in Matthew 26, Luke 22 and John 18. In this garden, Jesus prayed to his Father. He had been here before to pray. This special place is still filled with olive trees and is a sacred place for Christian pilgrims.
