,more cranberries please by ric Gustafson
This year 2017 has been bountiful for cranberries. Supplies are bountiful and there is a surge in imports. Inventories were huge even before this years crop in September.
Cranberries are popular at Thanksgiving. Twenty percent of annual sales happen at Thanksgiving. Cranberries are native to North America. Wisconsin accounts for more than half of the yearly harvest. Because of the huge inventories, prices will likely fall to 30 to 35 cents a pound.
