crimes of the century: Helter Skelter

crimes of the century: Helter Skelter by ric gustafson

On a hot August night in 1969, followers of Charles Manson killed actress Sharon Tate who was married to movie director Roman Polanski. Four others were murdered that night at a Benedict Canyon home. Killed were Tate, Jay Sebring, coffee heiress Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski and Steven Parent.
The next night, Manson along with Charles Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten went to the home of Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary. They were murdered and the walls of the home defaced with the slogan ' Helter Skelter' in blood.
Manson and the others got life sentences because California banned the death penalty in 1972. Manson now 78 is still in Corcoran State Prison and has been denied parole 12 times.
