crimes of the century: St Valentine's Day Massacre by ric Gustafson
Chicago crime boss Al Capone had a stronghold on the city. He controlled bootlegging, gambling and prostitution in the city.
On Valentine's Day Feb 14 1929, seven men from a rival gang run by George ' Bugs' Moran were caught. Moran was the archenemy of Capone's for the control of Chicago. In a garage, the seven men were lined up against a wall and executed. The men were surprised by men posing as cops that were actually Capone's men. No one was ever convicted for these murders.
The bullet ridden bricks are now on display in the Las Vegas Mob Museum which opened in 2012.
