crimes of the century: Lindbergh baby

crimes of the century: Lindbergh baby by ric gustafson

Charles ' Lucky Lindy' Lindbergh was an American hero. On March 1 1932, his twenty month son named Charles Jr was snatched from his crib. A ransom note was given to Lindbergh and his wife Anne demanding $ 50,000 for the return of their son. Everyone helped the Lindbergh family because he was the first man to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
America was stunned when Lindbergh's son was discovered in a shallow grave just a few miles from their home. Later, a gas station discovered ransom money had been used there. That marked bill led to a German immigrant named Bruno Hauptmann. He was convicted of the kidnapping and death of Charles Lindbergh Jr. He was put to death on April 3 1936.
