Lent 2021: the wrath of God by ric gustafson
God is both just and loving. Sin is dishonoring God. According to Romans 3, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Sin is not small. God is worthy of respect, loyalty and admiration. Not loving God defames him and destroys happiness. Because we sin, the wages of sin is death.
But God loves us more than anything else. God sent his Son to absorb his wrath and be our substitute. Jesus was the propitiation for our sins according to I John 4:10.
