Lent 2021: our justification by ric gustafson
When we are justified, we have been tried and found innocent. We are found not guilty. Justifying is a verdict. In ordinary terms, justification is hopeless. Jesus Christ shed his blood to cancel the guilt of our crime. Romans 5:9 says we have now been justified by his blood. That is the removal of our guilt. That does not declare us righteous. Jesus cancelled our sin. Praise God's name.
