" If there is no star" one of the Magi proclaimed. " I'm going back".
" We've come too far already" Reme replied. " We can't go back now".
" Tarch is right" replied another Magi. " If there is no star there must be no Deliverer either".
Both Magi handed their pouches of gold to Reme.
They walked away.
" Is there anybody who will continue with me?". He looked at the others. " I know the star will come back".
Zele was feeding bread to one of the camels. " I will continue with you".
Paton walked up to his friend. " So will I".
The other Magi handed Reme their gold pouches and left.
Reme put the frankincense, myrrh and supplies on the fourth camel.
The three Magi turned onto the Jericho Road and stayed there until they stopped at Mount Nebo for the night.
Reme later looked up hoping the bright star would return.
