The caravan slowly headed toward the Salt Sea. They stopped in a strange flat land. Reme and Paton got off their camels and fed them some bread. They sat down under a nearby tree.
Paton munched on a fig. " This is a strange land".
" Actually the crunchy soil is due to a volcano".
Paton had trouble keeping his eyes open. " I can't wait to reach our destination".
" My calculation is that it will take five days to reach the holy city". He closed his eyes. " Shortly we will be coming up to Gilead and then Gerasa".
Paton tiredly looked up. " Reme, wake up".
Reme opened his eyes. " What's wrong?".
" The star is gone".
Zele ran over. " What do you mean it's gone?".
They all gazed up into the sky.
The bright star that was pointing them toward Judea was now gone.
