The author of the book is the Apostle Paul. The book was written in AD 63. Paul talks about that church leaders need to be instructed on their lives and teaching. After visiting the church on the island of Crete, Paul asked Titus to stay. Paul needed someone to help the fledgling church. The church was plagued with poor behavior. They needed a church leader who was faithful and uses sound doctrine. Church leaders are held to a certain standard, Parishoners are also held to a certain standard.
