The author of the book is James. The author was probably a brother of Jesus. The book is dated AD 60. The book talks about real Christian faith by one's good works. Paul teaches that salvation is by faith alone and not by good works. James teaches that good works will follow true faith. James encourages people to view trials as opportunities for spiritual growth. James teaches that people need to control their tongues. People need to make peace. James says to help the needy. To James, life changing faith is the key. James through out the letter talks about practical wisdom for living the Christian life.
