The author of the book is the Apostle Paul. The book was written in the mid 60's AD. The book is Paul's final words to a coworker. II Timothy may have been the last letter Paul wrote. Paul wanted to warn Timothy about false teaching. Paul wanted Timothy to live a life of purity before his congregation. Paul tells Timothy to expect persecution. Paul tells Timothy that God will be faithful. Paul says that all scripture is given by inspiration of God. Hopefully when our spiritual journey ends here we can say like Paul I have fought a good fight I have finished my course I have kept the faith.
