people in the Bible: Andrew by ric Gustafson
Andrew means ' Manly'. Andrew was the brother of Simon Peter. He was a disciple of John the Baptist. When Andrew heard about Jesus, he left John to follow him. He told his brother that he had found the Messiah. He brought Simon Peter to Jesus. Tradition says that Andrew was crucified on an X shaped cross. Because of his work north of the Black Sea, he has become the patron saint of Russia and Scotland.
Praise God.
