According to John 11:6, Jesus knew that his friend Lazarus was sick. He waited two days before he came. Martha and Mary tell Jesus that their brother might not live. They waited for Jesus but he never came. Just like Mary and Martha, we live our lives in the in between. This in between time is important in our spiritual life. God makes us wait for his time. Sometimes instead of waiting for Jesus, we try to transform ourselves. While we wait for Jesus, we become more aware of God and ourselves. Time wise, Jesus is never in a hurry.
When Jesus is most absent can be the time when we get to know him best.
