Peacemaker: an offensive peace

Peacemaker: an offensive peace by ric gustafson

We will have battles and conflicts in our lives. As God's people we need to pick our battles and ignore little issues that come up. Satan uses personality conflicts between people to steal our peace. It is hard to ignore offenses and behaviors of others because we do not want to get hurt. God wants us to trust him that he will protect us when people hurt us emotionally.
God wants us to be Peacemakers not Peacebreakers. As we follow the Holy Spirit, we can let offenses go and keep our peace. When we are upset at others, we cannot hear from God. People in Christ have a choice to get upset after being offended or not. To live in peace means we need to be willing to be adaptable to people in all circumstances. In John 14, Jesus says stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed. When we let the little things go, we will have peace.
