Now we are going to look at the sound of taste. A food company did a study that determined that background sounds affect how we think of food flavor. The study showed that when noise levels increased, patrons viewed food less salty and less sweet. When noise decreased, those taste perceptions increased. Loud music will boost alcohol sales and the music's tempo will affect how quickly patrons eat their meals. Hearing is important as you chew your food. You want to hear what you are eating.
