' as is' by ric Gustafson
I walked into the store and turned left to the gift return area. There were four employees behind the return counter. All four were helping customers. I walked up as soon as an employee was available.
" Can I help you?" asked a young dark bearded man.
" Yes, I would like to return my salvation".
" Sorry" was his reply. " Salvation is not a gift you can return or exchange".
Tears came to my eyes. " Surely God knew about my many flaws and sin".
" Oh yes, my Father already knew that" he exclaimed with a smile. " He wanted to pay full price for your salvation anyway".
" But I am ' as is' with so may sins" I said as I wiped tears from my eyes. " Why does he want me for?".
" My Father paid a full price for you with the best guarantee".
" What guarantee is that?".
" A forever guarantee".
" What is that?".
" It is a guarantee that is good for all of eternity".
I looked at the clock on a nearby wall. " I need to go".
Jesus smiled as he watched the customer leave. " Go in peace and serve my Father".
