Margaret Tobin Brown page 3 by ric gustafson
Margaret was eating lunch at the Veranda Cafe. She was eating alone. She ordered corned beef, vegetables and dumplings. She gazed out some high bronze windows at the ocean. The water was flat and smooth. When the door to the deck was opened, Margaret could tell how cold it actually was outside. Few passengers ventured out.
A steward brought Margaret a small plate of cheese. It was an occasional indulgence. One of Margaret's favorite places on the huge liner was the writing room. She enjoyed sitting and reading in front of a great bow window. For exercise, she enjoyed walking through the huge liner. But even with the help of a guidebook, sometimes she still got lost.
She wondered what to wear to dinner. While in Paris, she bought several new gowns with matching hats.
Margaret was anxious to get to New York and see her grandson.
