Diana's boys page 3 by ric gustafson
Prince William heard a knock on his door at 7:00 am. Prince Charles walked in and sat at the edge of William's bed. When he saw his father, William knew something bad had happened to his mother. Charles told him what had happened in Paris. Father and son held each other and cried.
Charles and William entered Harry's bedroom. William woke up his younger brother. Charles and William explained to Harry that their mom had been in a serious car crash. They told Harry that her injuries were severe and that the hospital could not save her. Charles and his two sons embraced each other and cried.
They walked from the bedroom to a sitting room. They were greeted by the Queen and Prince Philip.
The Queen called the British Embassy in Paris and inquired if Diana had royal jewels in her possession when she died. Diana's younger brother Earl Spencer was notified. He had moved to South Africa to avoid the British Press. Spencer knew that the Press would kill his sister in the end.
With their lives in the public eye, William and Harry had become wary of the press.
That morning after telling the boys of their mother's death, they attended church with Charles, the Queen, Prince Andrew and a cousin Peter Phillips.
