Jesus: Luke 19:41 by ric gustafson
At the last hill from Bethany, Jesus stopped. He looked upon a familiar view. He was looking at silent stones. It was early morning. The sun warmed Jesus's shoulders. On the far side of the valley was Jerusalem. Tall and proud, the city hid behind massive stones and strong gates.
The colt stopped. Those around the colt heard an unexpected sound. Jesus was weeping. He saw what others could not see. He knew the horror of the city's fate. Jesus knew that the city would be leveled. Jesus knew her children would be gone. Jesus felt sorrow with his tears.
Jesus loves us more than anything else.
