Diana's boys page 6

Diana's boys page 6 by ric gustafson

At 9:00 am, William and Harry stood outside St James Palace waiting for their mother's coffin to arrive. They were flanked by their father, their grandfather Prince Philip and their uncle Earl Spencer. More than 2 billion people were tuning in as the coffin made it's way toward Westminster Abbey. Over a million had lined the streets as the procession went by.
The procession went down the mall past St James Park toward the government offices at Whitehall. Then the procession went past Downing Street and the House of Parliament. As the procession reached Westminster Abbey, Prince Harry felt a strange calm. The boys noticed 36 white lillies on the coffin.
Inside the Abbey were more than 2000 mourners. The Reverend Wesley Car began the service with one of Diana's favorite hymns. Then Earl Spencer delivered a stirring eulogy. After he gave a prayer for his sister and a prayer for the boys, applause was felt from inside and outside the Abbey.
