Cain and Abel were sons of Eve. Cain was a farmer. Abel was a herdsman. Both boys worship God with sacrifices. Cain offered to God produce or grain. Abel offered from his flock. Cain becomes so jealous of Abel, he kills him.
God wants to know in Genesis 4 where Abel is. Cain replies " am I my brother's keeper?". God sentences Cain to wander the earth. God places a mark on Cain so no one can kill him.
