All around us is confusion and chaos. Frustrations distract us. In Matthew 11, Jesus says come to me all that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens and I will give you rest. We need to rest our body, mind and spirit. Life exhausts us. But God says to us come free from strain and anxiety. God rested. We can rest in God.
God has invited us into his Sabbath rest. The Prayer of rest is intense stillness quiet alertness. To do the Prayer of rest, we need solitude. We stop our normal activities. We simplify we come to God alone. We must also reflect. The third thing we must do is focus our mind, heart and spirit.
God loves us more than anything else.
