The story of this song is that a novelist begs a publishers editor to take on his book. It was written by Paul in the form of a letter. Paul needed a song for the new album. He noticed Ringo reading a book. He decided to write a song about a book. The new song had a boosted bass sound.
The song was included on the album Revolver. It was released in May and June 1966
It was number 1 in both England and the US.
