70's tv: All in the Family by ric gustafson
All in the Family was created by Norman Lear. It was adopted from a British sitcom called ' Till Death Do Us Part'. The sitcom was about a married couple Edith and Archie Bunker. They lived with their daughter and opinionated husband.
The sitcom began to develop in 1968 by ABC. The second pilot with a new cast was called ' Those Were The Days'. CBS picked up the new show and renamed it ' All In The Family'. The show debuted in Jan 1971. Even though it drew major protest, the sitcom became a landmark ground shifting comedy. The sitcom changed the country and changed TV.
