In God's Word, Olives start with Noah. Olives represent healing. Noah sent out a bird, It came back with an olive branch in it's mouth. Manna from God contained olive oil. Olive branches became a symbol for peace. Jesus died on a cross for you and I. He is the Healer and the Anointed one.
Jesus loves us more than anything else. Praise God.

I stood in the cage with the other slaves. We were chained and miserable. We were all prisoners of sin. I began to think about all the sinning I had done and was still doing. I felt ashamed.
Just then, the cage opened. A man wearing red unlocked my chain.
" Toby Jones".
I raised my hand. " Yes".
" You have a potential buyer". Satan frowned. " Why anyone would want a prisoner of sin like you?".
He cackled and clapped his hands. " Is beyond me".
We walked across the compound to a ramshackle red trailer. We walked in.
Sitting on a red sofa was a young bearded man dressed in white.
" Here is Toby Jones". He sneered at me. " Why I don't know".
He smiled at Satan
" Toby Jones is mine".
" What do you mean yours?". He frowned at the young man. " I did not catch your name".

God's Table: Sea Salt

Salt is important in our human bodies. It is in our saliva, our sweat and our tears. Salt as sodium chloride helps keep our cells to function. The ancient Egyptians got salt from the Nile Delta. They used it to preserve food all year long. The Romans built the ' Via Salaria' which means ' Salt Road'.
Utah has ' The Great Salt Lake' and the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Salt appears in God's Word when Lot's wife turns into salt. Salt is a symbol of new beginnings and a separation from the past. God made a salt covenant with his people.
Jesus wants us to be the salt of the earth. Praise God.

I looked up from the deep abyss. I could hear cries of torment and suffering from my fellow prisoners. I was wearing a long chain to keep me in my place. I am a fallen angel and know what is going to happen to me. I looked up toward heaven. I hate Jesus.
Out of the gloom came my Master. " Morning demon".
Even though I was chained, I got down on one knee. " My Master".
He handed me an envelope. " I have a task for you".
I grinned. I was excited to leave this dungeon for awhile.
" I want you to do the usual to these people".
I grinned. " You want me to destroy the works of God in these people".
Satan smiled. " Yes".
I got down on one knee again. " I will do your bidding".
" Now go".

God's Table: bread

Unleavened bread is a Jewish staple. To make leavened bread you need water, flour and time. Jesus warned about the yeast of the Pharisees. He warned about what rises inside us. Jesus doesn't want leaven bubbling in our hearts. Jesus wants to work in our hearts.
Flat unleavened bread looks like a round cracker. Sometimes goat butter is put on top. Avoiding bread is a choice. Manna was given by God. Bread represented God's divine power.

God's Table: figs

The word fruit appears almost two hundred times in God's Word. Fruit appears in the bible on the third day of creation. With the Israelites, came the first fruits. In the Promised Land was dates, grapes and olives. One of the fruits was figs.
Date palms were popular along with grapevines. When you look at a fig tree, it appears fruitless. As you look closer, fruit appears. This first harvest is called a breva crop. Dried figs are more well known than a ripe one. Fresh figs have a small window to be enjoyed. The word for harvesting figs is ' orch' which means light of dawn. Jesus mentioned a fig tree. He was talking about attentiveness and expectation. Jesus's final miracle involved the withering of a fig tree. The tree became fruitless because Jesus said it was so. Jesus wants us to be fruitful for him. Praise God.

God's Table: fish

The Sea of Galilee is shallow and just 200 feet at one point. The first mention of fish in God's Word occurs on the fifth day of creation. The Egyptians pioneered fishing. God warned his people not to worship a fish god named Dagon. One of the entrances into Jerusalem was called the ' Fish Gate'. Jonah was swallowed by a large fish.
In the Sea of Galilee are one pound silver fish with a large dorsal fin. This fish is called amnon or ' St Peter's fish'. The fish got it's nickname from a story in Matthew. Also popular from the Sea is a carp type fish named barbel. Similar to barbel is gefilte which tastes like meatloaf. St Peter's fish is served broiled with sweet potato. Jesus considered the Sea of Galilee as his home base/
One final observation, the greek word ' ichthys' means fish. Praise God.

\Who is wise?. The Ancient of Days is wise. God is not bound by time. He knows the beginning and the end. God knows all the facts and insight.  God's wisdom is perfect. Worldly wisdom is not wisdom at all. According to James 1, we can ask God for wisdom. Solomon asked for wisdom. We need to pray for wisdom. God will grant us that. He loves us very much. Praise God.

" Aye Sir". He walked over to a large map. " I have us more on a southernly route to avoid ice fields".
" That's fine for right now".
Captain Smith walked a short distance and knocked on the wireless operator room. It opened to reveal a young man.
" Come in Captain". He shook his hand. " I'm Jack Phillips". He smiled. " My partner Mr Bride and myself will be in charge of the Marconi wireless".
" Mr Phillips, what is the range of this new apparatus?".
" Four hundred miles by day Captain".
" Good".

" A Porter was taking them for us to the Purser's office".
They began to walk up the ramp toward the officer. She smiled at him. " What do you mean by Purser's office?".
Officer Lighttoler tipped his hat. " There, they will process your boarding pass and direct you toward your room".
" Thank you officer".
" No problem". He tipped his hat again. " Enjoy this beautiful ship".
They walked up to the entrance. There they were met by a White Star steward.
" Hello, my name is Chief Steward Lanimore". He shook Robert's hand. " One of my stewards will escort you to the purser's office".

" Are you ok Mother?". People were hurrying to get on board before the ship sailed at noon.
" Yes, I'm fine".
" Help with those Sir". A porter smiled as he noticed David having trouble with their trunks.
" Yes". David smiled. " My Mother and I would appreciate that".
" I can put these on a rack and take them up to C Deck".
Camille grinned. " Thank you".
They walked up a ramp toward an officer. He was wearing a blue suit and cap. He was holding a notebook.
" Welcome to the Titanic". He smiled. " I am Second Officer Lighttoller".
" I am David Sharpston". He smiled. " This is my mother Camille Sharpston".
The officer looked at his notebook. " Yes, I have you in C-77".
" Officer, this is a beautiful ship".
He smiled. " The RMS Titanic is the British Empire at it's best".
The officer pointed. " This ramp will take you to the first class entrance". He grinned. " There a steward will take you to the purser's office".
" Why is that?".
" The purser will process your boarding pass and then direct you to your cabin".

Alison reached down and picked them up. She began to study them.
Helene beamed. " Your family?".
" Yes". She smiled. " Some are of my parents and grandparents". She began to stare at one of the photographs. She handed it to Helene. " Is this my great grandmother?".
Helene stared at it. " It sure is". Then her eyes got bigger. " Who's the handsome man standing next to her?". She handed back the picture.
" I don't know". All of a sudden, she dropped the photo. " Oh my God!".
" What?".
Alison stared at Helene. " They are standing on the Titanic".

The show was a mid season replacement in 1974- 1975. Starring Hal Linden. Supporting actors included Abe Vigoda, Gregory Sierra, Jack Soo, Ron Glass and Max Gail.
The show won several writing and directing awards in eight seasons. It won an Emmy in 1982 for best comedy.

" Sorry about the mess". They began looking at the locker numbers. " They are in the process of taking these lockers apart and removing them".
Both women continued to walk around the room.
Just then, Helene stopped in front of a locker. She stared at the index card. " I don't believe it". Her voice hesitated with surprise. " It's still here".

The sitcom began to develop in 1968 by ABC. The second pilot with a new cast was called ' Those Were The Days'. CBS picked up the new show and renamed it ' All In The Family'. The show debuted in Jan 1971. Even though it drew major protest, the sitcom became a landmark ground shifting comedy. The sitcom changed the country and changed TV.

The Jailer 2019

The Jailer checked the prisoner's stocks. He frowned at the nearby guards. " The magistrates have ordered me to guard these two prisoners with my life". " At the risk of your own life". He gave them a stern look. " Watch them carefully".
One of the scared guards spoke up. " What did these men do?".
" A slave girl was proclaiming that these two were servants of the most high God". " Then this one". He pointed at Paul. " He commanded the spirit to come out of her".
" Then what happened?".
" The slave girl's owners were enraged". He pointed at Paul's back. " They were beaten to an inch of their life".
The Jailer secured the prison again and checked the prisoner's stocks again.
Around midnight, he woke up to hear the two prisoners singing and praying. Just then, the walls and foundation of the prison shook as if it was an earthquake. As he walked toward the prisoner's cell, he could hear the stocks coming off the prisoner's feet and the prison door opening.
Scared, he drew his sword to take his life. Then he heard one of the prisoners.
" Don't harm yourself, we are all here".
He turned on the lights and ran into the prisoner's cell. He fell onto his face in front of Paul and Silas.
" Sirs, what must I do to be saved?".
" Believe in the Lord Jesus". He smiled. " And you and your household will be saved".
The Jailer washed their torn backs. He and his entire family were baptized and saved.

According to Romans 1, the apostle Paul says this thinking is not right. According to Paul, we lose our purpose in life and we are foolish. We lose our standard and purpose in life.
For some people, their work is their identity. For some, it is their possessions. According to Romans 1, all these are mirages in the desert of purpose. No matter how far we stray away from God, he will find us. He wants to know those who do not know him. The simple fact is God loves us more than anything else in the world. He always has, he always will. He loves to give us grace.

All of us go through adversity in our life. When this happens, God wants us to say It is well in Jesus's name. Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly. Our world is a fallen world. In Jesus, we are not of this world. This is why we can stand firm in Jesus. We can stand strong and stand proud. God loves us more than anything else. Praise God.

So what does grace do for me?. Grace gives me meaning and identity. In Jesus Christ, we have a new identity. Yes we struggle with sin and addictions. We need Jesus to point us back to righteousness. God wants us to reign over sin. We are righteous in Jesus. Grace will free us from the prison of sin. We are God's children. That is our identity. Praise God.

God's words are powerful. God does not want us to speak evil. According to I Peter 3:10, our tongue can speak good or evil. According to Proverbs 18:21, death and life are the power of the tongue. Through grace, God wants us to transform lives. God wants our words to restore, bless and heal. God says change your words through my grace and I will change your life.
