God does not want us to covet what other people have. The sin of coveting is a serious sin. We all have feelings. Coveting is wanting for ourselves what belongs to someone else. Theft is the heart of covetousness. What is wrong is wanting what other people have. Wanting to covet is an expression of discontentment. Coveting is idolatry. God says don't do it. Praise God.
