Solomon pleaded wisdom for his son. In verse 24, he said I called and you refused. He knows that his son will be stubborn. A strong will can be positive. Sometimes we lack listening or awareness to listen. According to 1:25, sometimes we neglect wisdom. I pray we do not.

I spent my days digging ditches with Kolbe the priest. One day, we were taking a break away from the guards. I stared at the little priest. " Has anyone ever escaped from this camp?".
He smiled. " It does not surprise me you are asking me this?".
" Why is that?".
" You are a born fighter and boxer".
I stared at the priest. " Do you feel it is wrong to want to fight?".
" No". He paused. " I choose peace".
Kolbe looked at me with love in his eyes. " Young man, are you willing to give up your life for someone else?".
" Yes, I am".
We began to walk back to work.
" Good". The priest smiled. " Jesus did the same".

When we are young, we try to avoid people who are trying to warn us. But warnings are for everyone. God's Word is a warning sign to us to be careful. Immorality is at every turn and we need to avoid it at all costs. Solomon wants us to have wisdom and avoid immorality. God's Word was written for our benefit. I pray that we will heed it's warnings. I winced as the branding needle went into my arm. There was no cleansing alcohol to prevent infection. I stood up as the guard who had just branded me smiled. Then I walked with the others into another cement block room. There my hair was taken off all the way to the scalp. Then we were stripped naked. Our clothes were thrown into a pile. Then we were inspected for lice and scabies. Then delousing powder was put on us. They threw clothes at us to put on.
As I walked toward my assigned barrack, I noticed a ravine full of dead bodies. At the edge of the ravine was my mother, father and sister. I cried the rest of the night. Next to me was the priest Kolbe whom I had met earlier.

" My name is Maximilian Kolbe". He pointed at the officer. " That is Dr Josef Mengele". " Be careful". He frowned. " His nickname is the Angel of Death".
A pair of male twins stood in front of me.
" Step forward little boys". Mengele smiled as he handed them a bar of chocolate. " You will become part of my special group". He pointed them toward a group of twins and special children.

We are disobedient. We know what we ought to do. We just don't put it into practice. What we need is biblical wisdom. Reproof is a Hebrew term that means ' to correct'. God nudges us to correct our ways. God tells us to change and change direction. God gives us a reproof a warning to change our evil ways. God loves us more than anything else.

God does not want us to covet what other people have. The sin of coveting is a serious sin. We all have feelings. Coveting is wanting for ourselves what belongs to someone else. Theft is the heart of covetousness. What is wrong is wanting what other people have. Wanting to covet is an expression of discontentment. Coveting is idolatry. God says don't do it. Praise God.

I woke up and noticed that the train had stopped. It was night time and pitch black out. It was bitterly cold out. I rubbed my strong arms to warm up. In the ghetto, my nickname was ' the Boxer'. I never lost a fight.
" Where are we? " my little sister exclaimed. " Why have we stopped?".
" I don't know". I looked out through the cattle car slats. As the sun came up, I noticed rows and rows of wooden barracks as far as I could see. Then the train engine started. The train slowly inched through the main gate. I noticed a sign on the wrought iron entrance gate. It read ' Arbeit Macht Frei'.
The train stopped. Our cattle car was opened. Soldiers pulled me out of the car. They were hitting me with clubs. I quickly helped the rest of my family get out. My father, mother and little sister.
A guard yelled at me " Form three lines". He pointed. " Men, women, children".
Their was chaos as the lines formed. There was screaming and crying as families were separated. Then I noticed a young SS officer who was whistling as he walked toward the head of the three lines. Later, I found out his name was Hauptsturmfuhrer Josef Mengele.

God forbids all greed and squandering of his gifts. Greed is stealing with the eyes of your heart. The greedy will not inherit the kingdom of God. What does God want us to do?. He wants us to work hard and care for our neighbor. According to Malachi, when we don't tithe we rob and steal from God. God warns us to not do that.

But there was a snag. The Italian official who was to sign Hollmann's exit visa had taken the day off. Hollmann was arrested and put into jail. Kurt bribed the Genoa police department. Hollmann was freed. The ship leaves with Hollmann on it.
On June 22 1949, the ' North King' docks in Buenos Aires Argentina. Hollmann now ' Helmut Gregor' could finally relax. Dr Josef Mengele ' The Angel of Death' was finally free.

With this God pure union also comes sexual immorality and sexual sin. This commandment also covers looking at someone else with lustful intent. Adultery is a matter of the heart. God wants us to stay away from temptation. Above all, God tells us to stay close to his Word.

It was April 18 1949. Thirty eight year old Fritz Hollmann was finishing getting dressed. It was Easter Sunday and he was dressing as a Bavarian farm worker. His plan was to travel through the Brenner Pass into Italy. He had just left his wife and family in Gunzburg which was in Southern Germany.
Because of investigators like Benny Ferencz, Hollmann knew he was a wanted man. He boards a train to Sterzing Italy. There he meets an Italian contact. Also he has a visit from a family friend. Hans Sedlmeier gives Hollmann money to sustain him as he travels through the Italian ratline. His next stop was Genoa. There he was to receive new identity papers through the International Red Cross.
The date was May 16 1949.

10 commandments: Remember the Sabbath by ric Gustafson
There have been different understandings on observing the Sabbath. We need to have a festive day of rest. We need to focus on corporate worship and resting from our evil deeds. On the Lord's day, we need to rest and worship. We must set a day for corporate worship. Jesus tells us to stop and rest. One day, we need to cease work and rest in Jesus. Praise God.

10 commandments: what's in a name

The third commandment tells us not to take God's name in vain. It is wicked, wrong and worthless to take God's name in vain. God commands not to misuse his name. We are not to curse God's name. We are not to have false or empty oaths. God says I am who I am. Names are precious and so is God's. Praise God.

We need to know that our sins have been forgiven by God. God is not angry with us. Jesus took our sins on himself at the cross. Some people hide from God thinking that they still have sins. God assures us that he forgives all of our sins. When we were born again, we are in Jesus. We have the forgiveness of all of our sins. We have the favor of God. We have eternal life in Jesus because we believe in him. Praise God.

According to Exodus 20, you shall not bow down to them or serve them for I the Lord your God am a jealous God. God tells us that he forbids self willed worship. We are not to make images or worship them. We are not to make man made artifacts to worship. We undermine God's freedom when we worship a different God image. God is a jealous God and does not want us to do that.
So how do we keep this second commandment?. We must guard against these self made images. Second, we should engage in corporate worship instead of self made worship. Lastly, we need to look to Jesus always. We need to worship God and God only. Praise God.

It is easy to hide from God. It is harder to run toward God. How do we run to God?. First, we must hear the Word of Jesus. Jesus tells us words of grace. We can listen for Jesus and draw close to God. God is love not wrath. Jesus heals people because God is with him. We can get faith by hearing Jesus's words. Jesus is love. God loves us so much, he gives us his grace.

God gives us grace abundantly. God gives us blessings upon blessings. In our life, we try to win God's approval. When we fail, we feel as if we have disappointed God. The truth is that God loves us despite all of our human failings.
The truth is that Jesus wants to transform us with his love. We need to repent and return to God's grace. We need true grace not destructive grace. Our minds need to be changed. We need a cycle of lasting victory. Jesus will give us the grace and the victory. Praise God.

From 1949 to 1957, the Lone Ranger was ABC's first hit series. Clayton Moore played the lead character. Jay Silverheels played his sidekick Tonto. Later, Silverheels complained about playing a Native American character. Silverheels died in 1980 after suffering a stroke. Moore loved his character and made public appearances as the Lone Ranger for years. Moore passed away in 1999.
