Flavius Artemis the centurion page 8

Flavius Artemis the centurion page 8 by ric Gustafson

Flavius nervously adjusted his helmet and straightened the medals that were on the front of his uniform. The medals mostly were for bravery in battle. He was proud of them. He stood against a wall of one of the palace rooms of Caiaphas. He was the chief priest in Jerusalem that year.
The dimly lit room did not contain much other than a large chair for the chief priest and a long wooden table for the Sanhedrin council meetings. Flavius watched as several of the high priests and some important Pharisees walked in and sat down. Flavius watched a tall dark haired man, wearing a hooded cloak covering his face, enter the room and stand against a back wall.
Caiaphas was the last to enter the room. He wielded enormous authority partly because his father in law was the former chief priest.
Caiaphas loudly banged his fist on his chair. " Let's get started".
