Dorothy's eyes got big as the scary woman walked in. She walked up to the candy counter.
" Do you have the money to pay for that?".
Frightened, Dorothy put the candy back on the counter. She ran back to Emily.
Wilhelmina West frowned at Emily. " She's with you".
Emily stared at her. " Yes, she's with me".
" Oh yes, your sister's child". Her voice hesitated. " Didn't mean to startle her".
Emily gave the woman a stare. " You shouldn't throw accusations at innocent children".
" Children are nothing but trouble". Shaking her head, Wilhelmina walked out of the store. She got back on her bicycle. She rode away in a huff.
Emily picked up the box. She opened the store's front door. " Thank you again for the box Laurie".
Emily and Dorothy walked toward the car.
" Aunt Em, that scary lady looked like a witch".
