Emily and Laurie Miller watched as Dorothy ran off toward the candy counter.
" How is she doing?".
Emily frowned. " She screamed last night". Emily frowned again. " She was having a bad dream".
" So what did you do?".
" I gave her some water". Emily glanced over at her niece. " Then I told her the story of the little people".
" Did that help?".
Emily grinned. " She did go back to sleep".
" Oh!". Laurie went to the back of the store. She came back with a big cardboard box. " I collected some things for Dorothy".
Emily looked in the box. She pulled out a book. It was ' Anne of Green Gables'.
" I loved this book". She put the book back in the box. " I'm sure Dorothy will enjoy it too".
