Beatles the early years page 2

Beatles the early years page 2 by ric gustafson

Both John and Paul loved American rock and roll music. Both of them loved hearing it and playing it. They knew nothing about rock and roll music two years prior. They made up for lost time.
Both John and Paul loved a singer from Macon Georgia. His name was Little Richard. Paul did a great imitation of the singer. John and Paul also loved Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran and Jerry Lee Lewis. But there was one person both lads worshiped. That was Elvis Presley.
A group called the Crickets were led by leader Buddy Holly. Holly was a big influence on John and Paul. The Crickets introduced John and Paul to the group sound. The sound of vocal, electric guitar, bass and drums.
Buddy Holly and the Crickets encouraged skiffle groups to change to rock and roll. In honor of Holly and the Crickets, John and Paul began writing songs to the Cricket sound.
