Lazarus and Mr Tucker page 2 by ric gustafson
Lloyd pushed the button for line 1. " Good morning Police Chief Littler". His voice hesitated. " Were you able to find out anything based on what we talked about?".
" Mr Tucker". The voice sighed. " I checked with City Attorney Boysen".
" And what did you find out?".
" The old man can stay as long as he doesn't bother anybody".
" He bothers me Chief Littler". He looked out the window at the old man. " He wears tattered rags and is covered with sores".
" Is he bothering anybody going through your security gate?".
" No, I have had no complaints".
" So what bothers you?".
" For one thing, I've have seen dogs come up and lick at his sores".
" Mr Tucker, I realize you don't want him there". The voice hesitated. " Outside of your security gate is city property".
" So as long as he doesn't bother anybody".
" He can stay".
" Thank you Chief Littler". Lloyd loudly hung up the phone.
