John was waiting for his cousin. His family was from Ein Karem. His father Zechariah had passed away. His mother Elizabeth was old. It was five days from Nazareth to Yerushlem.
The family's caravan was going to take a direct route across the Zezreel Valley. From Samaria, the caravan would head south.
On the first morning of the trip, the caravan stopped at a main fork. One way went to Caesarea. Instead, the caravan headed south to the Plain of Esdraelon. They stopped at Sebaste. The caravan had enough food to eat for a week. They had dates, figs, almonds and olives. Each family carried fresh water. They watched for creeks to refill their sheepskins. The donkeys were led by Yeshua and his father. Their names were Mo and Mazel.
