Lydia page 2 by ric Gustafson
Lydia's family roots were deep in Thyatira's history. The Greeks took over the land. Lydia's family started new traditions. Lydia's grandfather owned large amounts of land. Lydia's mother and only child inherited everything.
One day, the Physician and a friend came to visit Lydia's father. Helping her father with his dye business was dominating Lydia's life. She worked hard because she did not want to disappoint him. One day, a delivery was ready to be picked. Eumenes picked up a piece of the dyed linen. " My daughter". He smiled at her. " This is really good work".
" Thank you father".
He smiled. " I hope the one that you marry will understand your talent".
" Marry". She gave him a strange stare. " Who talks of marriage?".
" Your mother was your age when she married me".
" I help you with your business". She smiled. " That is my life".
