My name is Bill Clinton

I was born on my grandfather's birthday. For the first four years of my life, I lived in Hope Arkansas. The people of Hope always maintained our house long after I left. People called it the ' Clinton Birthplace'. At one point, mother had to go to New Orleans to work. I stayed with my grandmother. Even 50 years later, New Orleans has a special place in my heart. I love it's music, food and people.

My grandparents loved me very much. My grandmother Edith Grisham Cassidy was intense, bright and aggressive. She became a private duty nurse. My grandfather was James Eldridge Cassidy. Grandfather became an ice delivery worker. He delivered ice that weighed about 150 pounds. Eventually, grandfather ran a little grocery store. Grandfather also had a job as a night watchman at a sawmill. I had a good friend who lived next door, His name was Vince Foster. A black man named Odessa took care of me when I was young.
