From a third floor Boston hotel room, Mohamed Atta was preparing to leave. He put on a polo shirt. Then he started packing a Travelpro suitcase. At 33 years old, Atta was slim, five feet seven, clean shaven and bushy black hair. After spending one night in room 308 at the Boston Milner Hotel, Atta was preparing for something that had been years in the making.
Atta was the youngest of three children. Atta's father was a lawyer. Atta's mother stayed at home. The family was secular Muslim. Atta grew up in Egypt. In 1990, Atta graduated from Cairo University. His degree was in architectual engineering. Atta then joined a trade group which was linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. Atta began studying English and German. A family friend encouraged Atta to do his graduate studies in Germany.

Marie Rose Abad was a Senior Vice President at Keefe Bruyette and Woods. She was 49. According to her husband, she loved to read. Marie Rose was born and raised in Queens. At Queens College, she dreamed of being a teacher. Marie Rose Abad was in Two WTC.
