Ahead of the band's double album, Paul came in with a new song. He was worried about John's 5 year old son Julian. The little boy had been watching the collapse of his parent's marriage. When Paul first played ' Hey Jude' to the others, George right away came up with a lead guitar part. Paul nixed it right away. He wanted his own piano with backing vocals.
One day, George was reading from an ancient Chinese text. The first two words he read was ' gently weeps'. George wrote a song called ' While My Guitar Gently Weeps'. George asked Eric Clapton to come to Abbey Road and play on the recording. Paul was at the studio and helped George and Eric finish the song.
The double album was finished on October 14. George had 4 songs on the double album. The first was ' While My Guitar Gently Weeps'. The second was ' Savoy Truffle'. This was based on a certain kind of chocolate. The third was ' Long Long Long'. The fourth was ' Piggies'. George finished the song with the help of his mother Louise. The new album was nicknamed ' the White Album'.
