4-2-1882 was Palm Sunday. While the others went to church, Bob stayed home. When they returned, Bob was oiling his revolver. Jesse, Zee, Charley and Bob enjoyed a picnic lunch along a river.
At one point, Jesse looked at Bob. " Can we talk a minute Bob?".
" Sure". He smiled. " I've got nothing better to do".
" Someone told me you've been spending a lot of time in Kansas City?". Jesse's voice hesitated. " Is that true?".
" Yes, that's true".
Jesse frowned. " Have you seen Dick Liddil lately?".
" No".
Later, Charley and Bob were trying to fall asleep in a shared bed.
" I'm scared Bob".
" Why?".
" On our trip tomorrow to rob the Platte City bank?".
" Yes".
" Jesse's going to slit our throats while we are in the woods".
" No, he's not". Bob shook his head. " Go to sleep".
