Michael Kohberger yawned as his plane landed at the Moscow Idaho Regional Airport. The twin engine Embraer E170 jet took an hour or so to fly there from Seattle. It was a long walk from the jet to the squat single story terminal. It was a northwest winter. The small airport was lonely, desolate and very cold.
To Michael's relief, his 28 year old son Brian Kohberger had come to pick him up.
From the Moscow Idaho Airport, it was just a 12 minute drive across the state line to Pullman Washington. At Washington State University, Brian had just finished his first semester as a PHD candidate in criminal justice. That accomplishment was an academic success story. Brian was just a mediocre high school student. After high school, Bryan went to a local community college. Then he earned a BA in psychology. Then Bryan got a Master's in criminal justice. Then Bryan was accepted into Washington State University's acclaimed doctoral program.
So why did Michael Kohberger make a trip all the way across the country to meet up with his 28 year old son?.
