Apostle's Creed: I believe by ric gustafson
What does it mean to believe?. To believe that certain things are true. This is faith. If you believe in the existence of God, this is faith. We know there is a God. Faith means trust. When I say I believe in Jesus Christ, I trust in him. We leave all to follow Jesus.
Christians believe in someone. That someone is Jesus. Faith is like an anchor. We need Jesus as our anchor. When the storms of life come we need Jesus as that anchor.
Faith means commitment. To believe in God is to belong to God. Our faith is a personal relationship with God. God will not abandon us.
Faith is obedience. Romans 1 says we need the obedience that comes from faith. Faith leads to obedience. We must trust and obey God. Faith is trusting God. Faith transforms us.
