Violet watched as the men approached her.
" Pardon us". The man brought his horse along side Violet's mule. " We would like a word with you".
Violet recognized the man who was speaking to her. It was Sir Merek.
" Violet, it is me Sir Merek?".
" Have we met?".
" We met on the road a fortnight ago".
Violet did not answer him.
" Sir Willmer and I only wish to ask for directions". He smiled. " Is this the way to Lappage Valley?".
" How dare you steal from poor widows?".
Sir Merek stared at Violet. " I do not steal from widows".
" How dare you steal from my grandmother".
" I do not steal from widows".
Violet stared at the Knight. " You have not been demanding money on behalf of Baron Dunham?".
" I am an honorable English Knight". He smiled at Violet. " I do not take money unlawfully from anyone".
" Baron Dunham's men demanded money from my grandmother".
" We will straighten that out". Sir Merek frowned. " Take me to your grandmother".
